The Patient Safety, Language and Active Offer workshop covers the history of the Acadians, present-day immigration, the importance of offering health care in the patient’s language and tools to implement active offer. The workshop is offered as online training and in person by videoconference by trainers.
The training is made up of three units and will help you understand the importance of taking the patient’s language into account and being proactive in the way you approach them to provide the best possible care.
The goals of the workshop are to highlight:
- The context of French-speaking communities in Nova Scotia
- The need to provide care in the patient’s language
- How easy it is to actively offer services in French to patients who need them
